Hiya sticky metal gurus,
I'm after a MIG welder. Are inverter models the way to go, or is better to go with the older transformer-type welder? What are the pro's/con's of each?

Inverters are cheaper and have longer duty cycles for comparable welders.
Transformer welders are heavier and will last longer.
Apparently from what our welder dealer has told us, the technology at the moment is being poured into making inverter welders last. As far as I'm aware, the top end welders are still transformer models, so it just depends on what you want it for.
Home and light duties - inverter
Work and heavy duties - transformer.

just buy a cigweld 200/250 single phase will do everything you want i use them at work for super light welding and the much heavier beads when i need it
