Outer Limits 4x4 Board

hi guys just wandering wat is the best alterator for a 3.9 V8i S1 Disco? just doing dual batteries and have fitted thermo fans and has a fairly rude sound system so after an alternator with overkill ..any thoughts??

Mean Green do a 220A alternator apparently. What's your budget?

If it has V belts then a good cheap alternator is the Bosch 85 amp as fitted to Commodores, Magnas and Falcons around 1990. Usually sells about $200 new.

It is pretty easy to fit with just an extension to the adjustment necessary plus a few other bits and pieces and can use the original little v belt.

I have had one for about 5 years on my RRC and it has been reasonably reliable, with one failure of the regulator, which you can get at any Repco for under 50 bucks.

it has a serpentine belt..my budget is to limited as i just want an alternator to do the trick..maybe one with more overkill ..
gets used camping heaps so fridge, stereo and thermo fans are the main killers atm..
