engine conversion, ecotec motor into a gq ???

was wondering if anyone has done a 3800 supercharged ecotec commo motor into a gq and what is involed

mate just go 5L or Ls1 they have much better power as the GQ's are heavy

i would totally agree the ecotec would be too underpowered for a patrol, you could do a ls1 for the same dollars and would have a lot better power.

go the LS1 or LS2. the 5L in its stock form is totally not suited for 4WD applications, gotta rev them too much to get power out of them, the LS1 gets alot mroe torque down low

Its not an ecotec anyway. They still hold good value and you can get the ls1's so cheap they return good fuel economy with twice the power of the 4.2. Its your best bet
