Just wondering if there are any common faults that can be picked up with a quick inspection. Mainly rust/chassis cracks. Im a mechanic and it looks A1 and has had an easy life from what I can tell. Has 180000kms still original pump/injectors, pov pack model, part time 4wd solid front. There askin $25000 is that a good price?

1HZ pov pack ??? You can buy 06 ex police speed camera cars with tint, bars etc done 90-130 for mid to late 20's public trustee or city auciton group brisbane...

EDIT: I just spoke to one of the reps at citys he said they are getting 07's and a the odd 08 through now done 60-90 klms which I could buy rwc, detail, warranty and sell on for around the 30k mark - depending on condition.

180k is a good time to get rid of a cruiser. Things will be starting to wear like the suspension, motor electrics (starter, alternator). Sometimes the diffs.

THe main thing to worry about is the gearbox on those manual 1hz motors. They are the light duty R box from the hilux/prado and do break. Driver treatment may play a part there, but it's something to be wary of.

I'd say 25 is a bit rich. If it's a 2000ish model I'd say 20 is more like it if it's top condition.

Landcruiser owners tend to think their trucks are worth a Lot more than they actually are.

Heres one to consider

Dont forget that although the ks may not be too high those things have spent up to 8 hrs a day idling on the side of the road preventing crashes and saving lives.

IMO service history is the thing to go by, if its been looked after, k's to an extent shouldn't be an issue. I recently bought my missus a 99 gxl 105 diesel which has done 270k and it still has original diffs, gearbox, pump, injectors ect ect, and it drives like a new 1. Only had alloy bar and towbar as far as accessories go, but we picked it up for 16,500. Since then spent a few bob on it tho...
