I'm looking to fasion some mudflaps from some fairly stiff rubber and I was told that conveyor belt rubber is the best thing to go for. Can anyone tell me where is best to get it in the brisbane area?

It may not be much help but there is a compnay in Acacia Ridge that was cheap for some scrap pieces a while ago when I was after some. These are from the yellow pages under Conveyor. Hope it helps.

You could try any local qaurries too. I work for Boral in a quarry in Western Sydney and we've got hundreds of meters of used belt lying around, alot of it would still be a good inch plus thick...

How much $$$ are you paying for what size of conveyor belt rubber? One of my trucks has an entire floor of the stuff I got for free but I can't get any more from there, and need some for the other truck. Is it the stuff that is spiky black rubber on one side and brown fibre reinforcing on the other side???

I have a huge chunk in my garage, come and take it away, yours free. it's an inch thick, probably 2 metres long by 1 metre wide. about 100kg worth.
