Hey

Picked up a coiled rear diff from a 4runner.
Wanting to see if anyone has pics of the std rear flexing?
Tossing up just putting it in a lux as is for the moment n driving it for a while or putting long arms in.

Cheers Justin

Few pics of my old one in this thread. Rear used to flex really well.

I put 80 series lower arms in mine, about 200mm longer and this increased the flex dramatically.

But the standard 4 Runner 5 link flexs very well straight out of the box anyway.

Cheers

Thanks mate. Sounds like I might try that straight off the bat

Got pics of it by any chance?

Std set up with 80 coils on 33's

Did someone say "rear steer" ?

80 lower arms would be the go ;)

That's not to bad, should keep me happy for a while.
Think I will use longer lowers though. I won't have to worry about the coils limiting travel cos ill be using coilovers it'll just be limited by joints and/or arms binding.

I did the conversion on my lux, i dont have as much flex as the above pic but thats because i have it limited by the shocks... can get more but it is more then enough for what i have driven... And as said 80 arms would be to go but i used all factory stuff just for ease of getting it engineered..

Just a tip but, use a sway bar (with disconnects) as it will handle on road heaps better..

These are heavy coils...

There was a thread or 6 not too long ago on this IIRC, I posted some pics in there. Just with longer shocks the 4runner rear will drop a 33" tyre well below the level of the sill, plenty of flex.

I have a coil runner housing, drum to drum (no center but has axleS) but no arms if anyone is after one. Also got a 4.88:1 V6 LSD center that will fit nice ;)

I've noticed some guys running 80 series lower control arms with the 80 series spring lift and standard uppers. Does running longer lower control arms change rear axle/cv angles at all? 200mm's longer sounds like alot compared to standard.

Do the 80 series arms bolt straight in?

Will have to re-mount the chassis end lower link mount to keep the wheel centred to the wheel arch.
Will also have a lot more movement in the pinion angle during flex due to the greater difference control arm length.
