Need a bit of help. Pulled the cars of my 1.3 Sierra to clean the crud out of it. Instruction with carby kit may as well not be in there, very basic pic at best. Nothing in manual, said replace carb

I have a small spring that i'm having trouble finding a home for, about 3-4mm dia and 6-7mm long. Ditto a small aluminuim plug, seems to have appeared on the bench when blowing body out with air

Anyone got a half decent pic/diagram? I'm on dial up and havn't been able to download anything useful when googled it :bad-words:

Cheers
Rick

That spring could be the other half to that ally plug if it doesn't have any hooked ends, ie it's a conpression spring not a stretch one. i remember when i pulled mine apart. when you pull the top half of the carb off, there are locating pins that sit on springs so you don't put the top half of the carb on wrong. try look into that. cos i remember the same thing with mine. but i found it before i put it back together, so i could see the other locating pin so i knew how it went.

Yeah, spring slips onto one end of the plug (i think). May not have been assembled correctly in the 1st place as there was no witness mark in the gasket above the plug. Was pulling fuel through the accel pump curcuit at idle before i pulled it apart (running rich as ####) but is sweet now. Spring and plug puts a slight amount of tension on pump discharge ball/check.
