I have a mate that has a 90 model single cab 2.8l diesel engine (3L). He has destroyed reverse in his gearbox, I have a gearbox from a 2.4L turbo diesel Bundera (2L-T) will it bolt up? are the ratio's the same?

The Bundera has an offset output.. You might be able to swap transfers to get it to work.. That or put a Cruiser axle in the rear..

With a turbo diesel bundy or surf bellhousing it will bolt to the engine. Toyota only fitted a split transfer (bundy, offset rear output) or chain driven (td hilux, centered read output) behind these box's so i think you'll need an adapter and possibly a shaft from somebody like marlin crawler to retain the gear driven center output lux transfer. Would quite possibly be cheaper and more beneficial to use a cruiser or bundy rear axle though there are hassles with fuel tank-tailshaft interference.

The td bundy box (r151) is a much stronger box than the n/a hilux box (g52) and i believe has better ratios than the t/d surf/hilux box's (r150?). I could be wrong though, as the td bundy ran 4.88 diffs iirc.
