Do 35" tyres fit on the rear door of a GQ without any mods? If not what do I need to do?

35 x 12.5 x 15 ProComp Muddie went on a SWB door no dramas.
Ive seen bigger on others but some use a string from the big door latch so they can open both doors at the same time. (when the small door touches the wheel)

Yeah, but have you ever tried running 3 35's and a 31. It's a compromise that we need to tackle.

yeah it ll fit but only just....Mine clears the small door opening by about 3 mm. And i cant open the big door all the way. But its all good , just be careful when opening the big door so as not to break the tail lights . shane....

Ditto bagsy.......I have to SLAM the smaller door as it hits the tyre when closing.
Mine's been on 10 months and have dome some ROUGH days, doesn't seem to have damaged anything.........yet!!
I'm getting a rear bar made up and may in the future look at making up a wheel holder.

When I was using the std door carrier, I just had my spare either with no air or just a little. This allowed it to flex abit when it hit the tail lights.
MY spare is a 35" Kuhmo muddy on a dodgy 15x8 rim (well actually at the moment it is a nice 35"BFG on a straight rim). Just meant you had to put some air in it before putting it on (I havnt had a flat yet).
Got a tyre carrier now so not a problem.

I run simex JT2's 34 x 11.5 on 16 inch rims and i can just fit the tyre on the original spare wheel mount. it has about a 10mm gap between the small barn door and the spare when opening.

thats interesting, on mine a JT2 34x11.5 at one stage rubbed the small door when you opened it, so u had push the door hard to shut it

You can slot the mounting plate to move away from small door. Just hits taillight.
Also a worn tyre is better for clearance.

315 75 R16 = no way it will fit without slotting holes etc.
Just waiting for my Cheezy swingaway carrier to suit my rear bar then no more probs.

You can stop the tyre hitting the tail light by cutting a bit off the stopper & redrilling new pin hole.
