wondering which way to go about welding some tray mounts to my wagon chassis, doin a leaf ute to wagon coil chassis conversion so i gota make up and weld some tray mounts for it, would do it my self easy as (im a panelbeater) but not sure about legal stuff, from my understanding your not spose to weld on the flanges which is understandable, but yeah not sure what to do, is there people that have chassis welding tickets or something, and also would like to get in contact with an engineer on the goldcoast or surounding area. anyone know of a good engineer ?? :?

Pretty useless topic as in info wise, but yeah i get your point, no need to even search for that one..

As far as i can tell in most if not all states in aus,it is fine to weld along the top or the side of the chassis but not the lip/ curve.
Getting it approved (legally) is another thing, but can be done, somone that does this a hell of a lot should chime in soon either on this thread or the other and actually give people some info and not keep it to himself for his benefit. The best thing to do (once you seek approval) is to copy your std mounts being it body or tray.

cheers mark..
