Hey yall!
Looking at a late model 75 or early 79 series.

Is there much of a difference between them? and is there a 78? I've had a couple of people mention them but I've never heard of one? CONFUSED!

How do the compere in ride, cost, maintenance, performance and upgrade ability to the late GQ, early GU?

Any and all input appreciated
Regards Matty

78 is the troopcarrier, 79 is the cab chassis.

75 is leaf springs all round.

78/79 have coil springs on the front and longer leaf spring than the 75 on the rear.

Wicked, thanks for clearing that up for me.

Any idea about the comparisons to the nissans?

you cant really compare them to nissans, they are totally different set up. depends what you are going to use it for, nissans are coily all round and flex totally different to the landcruiser. thats with the utes of both anyway.

79 Diesel also have the factory turbo engine which in experience to an AM turbo on a 1HZ in a 75, the factory is more reliable due to the engine internals are built for the extra temperature / boost.

...as an option/model, not all of them are turbo.

The 79 series (up until the V8) came with factory turbo diesel as the HDJ79, normally aspirated diesel as the HZJ79, and petrol as the FZJ79.
