Can this be done and where to get it done? Have old cibie super oscars with faded reflectors and glass and wonderin if anyone can 'alumunise' the reflectors for a reasonable amount. Tryin to save money if possible beacause the reflector and lense is going for around $100 and new are $400 a pair. I already have 4 of the housings and want to spruce em up.

I had a pair of old headlight reflectors resilvered by Industrial & Decorative Plating at Lane Cove.
They were done around 20 years ago & they're still fine.

This is embarrassing but I once used chrome paint on some. The light output was honestly indistinguishable on the repaired side compared to the stock one.

Search yellow pages for decorative platers. They do plastic and metal.

Mine were metal. Give them a call though, they had all sorts of weird & wonderful things getting done when I was there.

I am restoring a Ford XC ute with the twin headlight grill (like the GXL / Cobra) and the driving lights of these 30 something year old cars are quite often damaged and faded. I frequently look on ebay and find places that actually do repair these driving lights, so maybe they would be worth a try for your cibie oscars?

I know it says Ford only, but maybe these people may be able to point you in the right direction. I hope that this info is ok for you, and not sending you on a wild goose chase!
