using second diesel tank after a while

hey guys planing a trip away later this year and want to get my second fuel tank ready it's a 93 mavrick ute tank is under the tray . when i brought it bout 6 months ago i checked and drained it wateva was inside was yellow and bit of rust and the guy told me that water has gotton into it my question is how do i prep it to take diesel again wat do i have to do cheers by the way it has nothing init for 6 months now cheers guys

You could take it out and have it dipped in an acid tank to do a proper job of it, otherwise just fill it with diesel and go for it.
Does it transfer from that tank into the main tank? If so run a good filter in between the tank and the pump, and carry a few spare filters.
Worse case carry an empty jerry to syphon diesel if necessary, otherwise with all the filters in the system it would be hard for the crap to make it to the motor.

yer it feeds into the main tank via a hose no to it though just gavity feed
