now the nuts that hold the plate to the chassi i think are somwhat spot welded
now when he was reinstalling the bolts he used a rattle gun on it and snapped the nut inside the chassi any ideas on a fix at all?

Is there any access to the inside of the chassis to at least hold the nut while doing up the bolt? (doesn't have to be welded - that's just a convinience)

If not then the chassis will have to be cut open, so the nut can be tacked back on, then the chassis welded back up. You will want to speak to an engineer first, as doing this could compromise the strength of the chassis.

Using say a 4-5 mm drill you could drill three or four holes around the hole, pull the nut back into place with the bolt and plug weld the nut back on. Be sure to protect the thread on the bolt. Remove the bolt and flap disc the welds and repaint. Do it well and you won't be able to tell.

This is assuming that you can remove the trailing arm of course.

Hope that makes sense.
