new clutch in HJ61

Post by flyology »

Well I turned up the boost and fuel slightly, and the old clutch said I am not playing the game. So at 1800rpm it slips if more that 1/3 throttle is used. So, I have a replacement clutch (extreme outback, which appears to be an exedy as the disc has an exedy part no. on it) Have fitted it, but on tighting up the bolts on the pressure plate noticed that that fingers go flat......... I cant remember this happening on any other clutch i have done (it may have, but I just didn't notice) just wondering if any mechanics out there can confirm that is is correct/normal???? Yes, I had the flywheel machined and the step is at the suggested .5mm setting.........

Would like to get this done properly with out having to pull the box out again.......

any suggestions??

thanks,

MB

Thanks guys, will go a head and put it all back together. I wish I still had my spare input shaft (dunno where it is, can't find it) so I could use it to line up the clutch, best thing to do it with.....
