Longfield in FJ-80 What the diff?

I have had to remove my Longfields for machining and after much searching have found it difficult to find the correct measurement for the re-grove.

There are two common methods people tend to use, so i have found:

-> Use a spacer .
-> Re-grove and part off the end of the CV joint.

I need an answer straight, other forums and posts i have found say that it's approximately 8mm and i don't have both the earlier and later CV's to measure the difference in length. Can someone give me the length difference between the two joints please?

Cheers, D.

Hi there you need to cut off at the cir clip grove & regrove 8mm down
We just measured the the grove from the end & re did it after the cut & it was 8mm
Dont use the spacers or the AVM hub as it wont be as strong
Cheers Dan
