not 4x4 tech, holden viva stalling issue

guys, my wifes 06 holden viva is sometimes stalling when idling. i think it is either the auto choke or the electronic stepper motor that controls the throttle butterfly that is jamming. it will only do this intermitently, is not temperature dependent, and will mostly clear if the car is restarted once or twice. keeping my foot lightly on the accelaerator pedal keeps the throttle body open sufficiently to stop stalling, but its a pain to drive like that. ive checked the throttle body and air lines for carbon and removed some with a rag. it wasn't very carbon'd up at all. has anyone else had any issues with the stepper motor in similar small engines?

Go to Subaru spare parts.
Get a can of upper cyl cleaner . ($20)
Spray all around throttle body inside etc.

does the throttle body need to be off or is that stuff safe to go into the intake plenum?

upper cyclinder clean is designed to clean the manifold, head and valves its safe to run through the motor if you read the instructions it says to empty 1/2 the can into the manifold via a vac hose with the motor off wait 10 min start the motor takes a bit of throttle to start and clear it out then empty the rest of the can in while motor is running normally have to open the throttle stightly when the cans empty shut if off then wait 10 min and its all done however i dont think it will help your problem where might be a software up date for it or it might need a new stepper motor
