I am chasing a auto gearbox with transfercase for my mq patrol for a sd33t. I am willing to swap my 5 speed manual with transfer case for a good auto box.

Try an track down a scout then
See how it works
Do they have remote transfer or not ???
Does the transfer tailshaft exit points match the diff on the patrols
The MQ/MK diff have off set pumpkins
AS i mentioned the only autos in the MQ/MKs were the L28s and only in the LWB, never in a SWB

adaptor plate for T700 holden auto. Had thought about this a lot, a few years back, even had some drawings of plate and torque converter/flywheel, never got around to it. then adaptor plate for transfer, or the remote mount. Bought a GU td42t after 2 broken SD33T cranks.

If you could get the conversion kit for any auto, then track down the remote transfer
Youll be done
The auto MQ/MKs ,have a normal auto then a small tailshafts from the auto to the remote transfer
Thats why alot of blokes are tracking down the remote transfers
AS any motor/box combo will work

They bloke that started building my car many many years ago had the SD33Tand loved it too bit's but wanted gearing and an auto.

After looking into he made the choice to Buy a ZL/XF 250X-Flow with a C4, get a marks kit too a Toyota 60's T-Case then to put the 68% reduction gears in it.

From memory he said doing that was cheaper than get an Auto to work with the SD33T

Wicked,
I think your on to something there
A falcon x-flow and auto can be had for bugger all
Considering the $$$ a good SD33T are commanding nowadays
It would be something to consider
The reduction gears are good for rock climbing
But for general weekend bashing surely the factory remote transfer would handle the ford motor/box
It seems its something that has been a thought before
Im wondering how the SD33T torque band would go with an auto

i have found the international scout from 76-81 had an auto behind the sd33t. It was a 727 with a dana 300 transfer case. I have thought about doing a conversion, but i really like the sd33t. I do have an option to go 302 windsor with a c4 which is in a g60 that is in my back paddock.

the 727 is a tuff gearbox commonly found behind crylser big blocks they were also used in some early classic range rover auto conversions mater to a lt95 so would be like fitting crawler gears at the same time
