disco ute build

Hi i've just started my ute chop on my disco and want to do a topic on the build.

I've had a engineer come and se me and he's told me what i need to do!
I've got pics but i can't post them :bad-words: But i can email them to some one if they can???? :)

I've got as for as the back end is cut off i've cut the chassis back nearly 700mm to give me a 91 degree departure angle :lol:
I've got one side of the ute finished i've hand made all the new panels as you can't buy tem any where :roll:

looks bloody tough, how did you go with speaking with an engineer? and when the f@#K is it going to be ready so i can race you.

i reckon dec jan!! engine is ready just need to put it in and wire it up. Ye spoke to a engineer from e cad in hallam he's really good he's told me what to do.
I'm also lowering 50mm and goin to tub the front end so it handle's better!!

I'm always up for a race :finger:

there was a build on Aulro of a td5 disco ute chop, for the panels behind the doors he used panels off something like a mazda bravo or something, it was an exact match to the door profile. HE did a bloody good job, looked factory.
Like your depatrure angle :)

hi isn't that a series 2 discovery??? if so different lines i'm useing a mazda back window though.

what did you do with the roof, have you any pics of that. I want to do a ute chop on my D1 as well in the future but the roof bothers me.....

Thanks! i used a a bit of the old roof and cut in two as it wasn't wide enough and then made a new panel for the centre.
I'm doing a bit more this week and will get some more pics up!!

Nice rig - will be watching this build up closely :)

As a matter of interest what suspension combo (lift height etc..) and tyre/rim size is Ecad engineering for you?

ye stiil the car in the pic i'm running a worked 5ltr holden motor konis adjustable shocks i'm currently running a 4 inch lift buti'm goin to run 2 inch and modify all the engine bay (tub it)
As for as how heavy i'm hoping for around 1600kg :?
tyres are 36 x 12.5 simex extreme trekers i'm just designing some bead lockers :D i'll be cutting them out on the laser in the next few weeks :shock: D
I don't know if i'm going to comp it yet might just have it as a toy :armsup:
i'm doing more work on it this week will try to get more pics up!

Hi

Thanks discothrasher have just sent u some pics i'm hoping to have it in the spray both by the end of next week just finishing of the cage now and the tray! :armsup:

the engine is nearly complete just got to bolt the heads back on then will be dropping that in the next few weeks. :shock:

I'm running roccia guards up front they are thebest flares ever i think nice and wide to keep the cops happy :cool:

some of the pics could not load up
imageshack.us is a awesome host all you have to do is drag your pics from your folder into theres resize upload and copy and paste url like that just took me for all pics about 2minutes

Thanks and in regards to the 1600kg i think i'm well off the mark maybe a bit heavier with now goin with a full exo cage!

And the light pod i got from lucky8 in america was cheaper to get from there then england but i di buy it nearly four years ago now!!!
