105 series 1HZ-T intercooler idea

Hey,
I have an idea which is open for more advice and other ideas about intercooling my 1hz-t -- also post some pics if you have seen this done!!
The 105's have much more room between the bonnet and engine than the 70 series , so i was thinking of using the space and making some brackets and fit atleast a 400x300x75 or 100 cooler under there, depending on the size that i choose will determine the scoop, either a terrican scoop or 2x GU scoops next to eachother. Then i was going to get a high speed fan that runs off ignition with an override switch in the cabin.
Depending on the size of cooler i could actually fit in there will also determine if i get two fans or not. I did the same idea on the 3.0 ZD30 patrol with a PWR welded core, egts were 20% lower on average and i gained a safe 18hp (total of 134atw-hp) and roughly 80nm of torque. I had a bloke in SA make up a shroud for the fan to sit on so the only way the IC would get air was through the scoop (nice and cool)
I dont really like the idea of having a water to air intercooler due to potential part failure at the worst of times. I figure, if i can get a cooler that matches the air flow and rig up a high speed fan with the a snug shroud then it will give the same effect of a front mount cooler, with out the plumbing!
In terms of fitting the unit, i would have it slightly angled up towards the rear as it will have to clear the rise in the tappet cover at the back of the engine. I understand that it will be tight fit but a tight fit is a good fit I will have to make up a flange or an adapter that will have to be custom made to fit the rectangular shape of the standard intake manifold of the 1hz, following that, the plumbing from the turbo to the cooler will also have to be made up. Judging on the room that ive got in mine, its also going to be a tight fit, however.. very do-able.
All in all, i've spent a fair while staring at my engine back and looking underneath seeking other ways of plumbing a intercooler but it just seems to much like a stuff around. I figure this will be a much cheaper alternative for those who cant justify expensive water to air kits etc, but still provide a awesome solution to dangerous egts for boosted 1hz-t's
