gearbox leak into tranny

me gearbox is leaking.

the gearbox guy reckons its draining into the t'case.

can u fix it with a hose from somewhere to something :?:

also how much is a gearbox rebuild :?:

you can setup a hose between the two fillers, and add some extra oil they will feed each other then

that is what im after but i dont know how to do it.

see issue 63 of 4wd monthly. roothy goes thru how to do it or u can buy the kit for $40 from thompsons sapre parts 3893 1473. being a roothy article its for a 40 series soo the kit may not be applicable to your application

I'm assuming you talking about a 'Cruiser problem. If you want to you can replace the seal with the one used between the auto trans an the transfer case - it's double lipped where as the manual box type seal isn't.

Hilux suffer the same fate too - and they can have a quick fix with the hose between the two.

Remove both filler plugs. Drill and tap a hole in each to suit a suitable threaded barb. Rightangled may be better.
Replace, put a piece of oil safe hose with clamps between them.

id prefer to use a kit to fix it rather than my own handiwork
however i drive a Rocky.

i think me mate still has that mag and a couple more :?

is there any diagrams/photos out there?
