I am just curious if anybody has fitted a pyro to there factory Turbo vehicle with standard settings. If so what temps did you get.

It's not my measurement. But here's a document from Audi on their 4.2 V8 TDI which says 860C.

I feel pretty safe on 750C now.

860 C seems to be the Audi V8 optimised running tempreture
I know the audi V8 and my TD 4.2 are tow different motors so I dont think I will test the boundaries.
But I do feel safe hitting 650 although I do think adjusting the timing will lower the exhaust temps a little. Just cruising I will run between 200 to 330 but towing up hills it will easily hit 650.
The compressor wheel and the guide vanes were
optimised and the turbine-side fan was decoupled
from the turbine in order to increase turbocharger
speed (up to 226,000 rpm), exhaust gas temperature
(approx. 860 °C) and charge pressure (approx.
2.5 bar absolute) in order to enhance engine performance.

I also had a scania document somewhere for their exhaust turbo-compound (turbine geared to the crank to extract more power from the exhaust). It had the exhaust from the cylinders labelled at 720C.
I hit 900C the other day, was towing and talking to the passenger too much.
Where is your probe mounted?

In the Dump pipe. 900
It all comes down to what pistons the motors are running. I read to make the vehicles more efficient they have purposly run EGT hotter but they also redesigned the pistons to take the increase in temps.

If your probe is after the turbo, you can add 200+/-50oC to your measurements. The figures Dougal has quoted are pre turbo.
So you are running ~850.
The factory manual for my 3.9L Isuzu TD engine states a maximum of 750oC (pre turbo).
Modern engines may have ceramic (coated) components or other special stuff to allow them to handle high EGTs.
