Hi all, I have an ihi rfh5 watercooled turbo I want to fit to my 2.8l hilux, I have a surf manifold and have brought flange plates so I can build an adaptor from manifold to turbo, oil feed lines are done, oil drain line and water lines still need doing along with intake and exhaust piping. Now for the questions, Has anyone used one of these turbos on a lux? it's from a mazda bravo. Next question, the water lines are about 1/4" pipes coming from the turbo, where do people tap into the water for in and out on the motor? cheers and thanks

on my oil and water cooled CT20 turbo, i tee'd into the heater hoses with brass fittings.
The heat from your heater will always be colder than the heat of your turbo, so thats how it is cooled.
What size motor was the bravo? Like the 2.5 diesel?

yes, it's off a 2008 bravo 2.5l, only a small turbo, but looking up the specs from ihi, the 2.8l diesel looks like it sits right in the middle of it's recommended use, in regards to engine size, I will continue on, thanks fellows

RHF5's are used on a lot of diesels from 2-3 litres. There will be some variation in the exhaust housing size so you have some possibilities for fine tuning once it's running.
Water lines are optional on most turbos when fitted to diesel engines. I run garretts without them hooked up with no problems.
