I have a Yamaha AG bike with a standard halogen light on the front its a 6v unit, i want to upgrade it to a 6v LED (not a LED globe, a whole LED reflector and all)
I have searched around a bit but can only come up with LED globe replacements does anyone know of a solution?

A similar thread in GCC for car ones: http://forum.outerlimits4x4.com/viewtop ... 0&t=214828" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Dunno if it's much help, but worth a look.

Might be cheaper to modify some sort of decent LED torch?

If your capable with DIY electronics you could always build your own unit with kits or components from someone like this:

They sell the LED's (high power CREE ones), drivers, heat sinks, reflectors etc. Only issue is that 6V is quite low so will probably require a small DC-DC converter.

I'd use an LED torch, ive got a fenix tk40, some of the high end ones can require good batteries though, the fenix really wants 8 NiMh AA eneloops, normal AA's aren't a real good idea. Very useable beam, you really don't need to focus a beam that good, probably makes double the light of a LED 4d maglight when its set on medium, and its only half the weight.
The advantage is that when you stop the bike you got a kick ass torch to wander around with! - mine will fit in maglite mounts also, making fitment easy - i made a mount for the rifle scope.
