I got a reconditioned gearbox from this place, they organise transport both ways and I am very happy with the product.

I think stay with the G52, how many kms has it done? If it is jut for daily driving and not comp work I think the G52 gets a bad rap because they are old, have done alot of kms and people always pull them out and replace them with another just as old non rebuilt G52, of course its going to fail again.
Just my personal opinion but I am happy with my G52.

A gearbox that was bolted to the back of any truck with an L series motor. You'll just need the bellhousing too.
+1 for stick with the G52. Get it rebuilt, or I've got one sitting in the shed that I don't need. For all the shit they get given, I've never seen one die - and my mates have mostly had Lux/Runners before they got old and and stopped giving cars shit.

The R series boxes from the later V6 surfs etc are a stronger boxes.
I munched four G52's in my V8 LN65 before swapping over and have since done 100,000+Km with it.
You'll need your existing bell housing and Transfer case

ok cool thanx all for the replies i happened to pick up a used g52 box with bell housing and transfer for $650 with three months warranty from ABC Auto spares.
i thought that was a pretty good deal! i think i'll give it hell and if it dies i'll upgrade to an r series.
on second thought i think i'll look after this one.
and mr termite hopefully i won't need your spare gbox but i'll keep it in mind if something happens, thanx for the offer.
next dillemma, i'm trying to get the old box off and i'm having trouble gettin the front driveshaft off the box, does it come off or is it surposed to stay on? the replacement box still has it on.
never mind i got it. haha
