extra cab chop, someone hit me upside the head

Firstly there is no restriction on shit canning me, go for it.
Thoughts on a G-60 mid wheel base, chopped just in front of the rear wheel arch. My thinking is that would make a nice length for the cab, no rear door to weld up & windows in the right place.
Now the fun bit, it goes on a GQ chasis, I reckon the engine bay would be ok, probably have to weld a GQ floor pan in. I guess dash would be a problem, but I love the big vents on the front of the G-60. It would be a hunting, fishing & bush truck. Not a comp vehicle, just a comfortable get away number.
Do you experts reckon this is a goer.

I do like the idea, would look good especally putting it on a GQ chassis for the suspension.
tricky bit will be mounts (body) and getting the steering setup from cab to box, apart from that should be ok, you will also have to see where the gearshift will come through the floor, an Auto wouldn't be too hard as you can make your own linkage, but for a manual might be a bit harder

I have been considering this type of thing for a while, from whit I understand the G60 chassis is 20mm narrower than the GQ, so the GQ body mounts would have to be modded to suit the body.
A guy I know has fitted full GQ running gear into his G60 (including steering column etc) PM 76patrol he might have some useful info although I don't know how often he's on here he should be able to help.

Well the missus is very disappointed in you blokes. She's one of those "common sence will prevail " types.
I remember an old fella at Orbost had a LWB model, have'nt seen many. A bit like a troopy. Now that would be even better, espesially if I could find an old ute as well. The cut off back would be an easy fit.
Thanks for the encouragement, i'll pm that bloke also.
Oh love & kisses from the dragon
