Hilux Auto Ticking Noise

Hi all, just started having a bit of trouble with my hilux. I have a 91 hilux automatic 2.8 diesel and i have been getting a loud ticking noise coming from the flywheel/flexplate, the noise is usually there from 1000rpm to 2000rpm and always dissapears under load. The motor and gearbox run fine and never miss a beat especially the auto would have to say it is the smoothest auto i have ever driven cant even feel the gear changes its that smooth. I took the inspection plate off the bellhousing and the noise got a fair bit louder so i am guessing its coming from flywheel torque convertor, and also changed starter motor but no change.
