Well got under the car this arvo to check on a diesel leak I could smell. Not looking good..

Leak Video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EU1CbzYTlSs" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Based on http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_G_1991_T ... _2203.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It looks like 22790A RING, O (FOR TIMER COVER)

Does anyone know if this sounds right? If so can this O ring be replaced while the pump is on the car or does it need it pulled off and overhaulled?

Had a late 80 series with the 1HD-FT in at work a couple of months ago with the same leak, also had cold running issues. Pulled pump off & sent away for overhaul, main housing was worn, fitted a new pump after the boss haggled with Toyota & waited a few weeks for it to come from Japan. Customer was rapt, come back asking if we fitted an additional turbo.

The oring can leak where the unit bolts to the housing, it can also leak through the shaft of the main device. Its call an automatic cold start device. Can be tricky to do in the car but not impossible.

The leak is actually coming out at the furthest point in the spring so could be the shaft. Let it warm up tonight and reduced from one drip per second to one drip per ten seconds. I might take it into the mechanic to see what happens
