I have a resin top sierra and i want to put four w@nker lights on the roof. Woundering if the screws on the outside of the targa bar could be used to hold some angle bracket that i could weld a tube on?
Otherwise, what other options do i have, as my resin top sits forwards of the windscreen a couple of inches, stopping me mounting them off the windscreen frame.
Thanks

Yes do it that way. You wont be able to see jack from the glare if you mount them on the windscreen frame.

Ok, tried to undo the screws on the targa bar, but no good, too tight from the factory and painted. Now thinking about using angle bracket off the screw that is in the door frame that holds the link from targa bar to windscreen. Will give it a go this week.
Also, does anybody know weather you can weld the angle bracket that you buy from the harware store that is crome finish (maybe galvanised) ?

If it is galv it will spit and carry on when you weld it. It can be done but it makes a mess. Your better off getting black stuff from a metal centre then painting it, it will look better anyway

The light bar on my suzuki is screwed to the two bump-stops at the top of the windscreen frame(for when the windscreen is folded down onto the bonnet). this works well on mine, can e-mail you a pic if its any help as I don't know how to post them on here.

my brothers zuk had them mounted to the windscreen bump stops and had no dramas. i also have mine mounted to bracket soff the exo in a similar position and they are fine. A bit of glare but the bonnet was flat black

Mount them across the factory bar behind the driver. If you have them on top of the screen the light will reflect back to the driver and negate the benifit of the extra lights.
This gets worse when the mud dries on top of your bonnet.

Went down to the hardware store this morning, picked up 2m of 19mm square tube, and 2 L brackets (100 x 75 zinc plated). Drilled extra hole in the 100mm side and screwed them on. They clear the doors and will allow me to fab up the bar tomorrow, if i can be bothered.
As for using the bumpstops, i have none due to the resin top, you can just see in my av that the front section hangs forwards about 2" from the windscreen frame.

Got the bar welded up this morning at Merrigans Engineering in Greensborough, did a great job. Will be painting it today, 24hrs to let the paint dry properly, and i hope to get some pics up in the next few days.
Hear is a shot of the design for you guys.
