Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hey team,

My 1978 BJ40 landcruiser blew one of the cooling hoses from the 3litre "B" Diesel powerhouse. I have ordered new top, bottom and bypass hoses, but the ones that are stuffed are smaller ones that traverse down the side of the block.

Here's the culprits (feet & bottle cap left in photo to demonstrate scale)

I have looked in the Gregories Service Manual, and I can't find any reference to these.

Does anyone know part numbers, what they are called, or where to find them?

Mick, they are not the part numbers. Back in Toyodiy click on the numbers you just quoted on the pic and it will take you to to the part number listing on the right hand side of the page. Should be something like 91324-66118. Thats what Toyota will need. They are called by-pass hoses and you will probably only be able to get them from Toyota unless you take the samples to Repco, etc to match something up. They will need to be pretty spot on to get around your alternator and block correctly.

i remember doing a dodgy temporary fix on these when i first got mine. Replaced the oil cooler hose with a normal heater hose flexible piece, but had to bend it up into a circle then down again to get it around the corner without kinking on the alternator. Was a fine dodgy temporary fix that is still temporarily in place 6 years later.

That's quite impressive though. How did you did the fixing part? I mean if you just did it youself or with the mechanic buddy? it's always easy to explain it in layman's term.. thanks!
