Me too.
Don't waste your time with the K&N/UniFilter stuff if you plan on taking the car off road. Stick with quality paper elements, or upgrade to a Donaldson element/box if you have the $$$.

Cheers lads!
With the ZD30 element/box... Is it like the pre cleaner filter on the earlier GQ's? How do they go with dust? What price did you pay for the complete unit?
Im liking the idea of the donaldson filter idea, what type/model no's are people using? If I can get these for a good price would be awesome!
BJ on roids:
What kit did you get?
Im wanting to go for a 100mm intake pipe (snorkle) then reduce that from the air box to the intercooler. Is anyone doing this?
And how do any of the above go with a duel battery set up under the bonnet?
Thanks heaps!
Steve

when i turbo'd my gq, i had the cast air filter shousing that sits over the motor, i removed it an fitted a zd30 filter box, fits between the head light and duel battry tray, i did find in mine it was tight with the ARB tray, so i moved the tray rearwards 50mm, this included reshaping the inner guard and over flow bottle, took me an hour, but worked a treat,
using the ZD30 air cleaner removes about a meter or intake piping, gotta be better, and also the cast boxes ontop of the motor get a bit of heat soak, so cooler air traveling a shorter distance has to be better,
also the zd30 air box is the main filter its not a pre filter, and is perfect for trapping dust and shit,

Here's a link to mine which i've put on Patrol forum.
Note that this is a Safari with factory dual battery but you will get the idea.

I have an original one out of the ute but its a very tight fit and does a bit of rubbing on the intercooler piping, when i fit the snorkel i will be looking into changing it.
Space is the problem here as you can see in the pics.
