Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hey everyone, I want to get my injector fuel lines and rails chrome plated for that super tough look. My new manifolds show all the lines and rails so i want it looking good.

Let me know who is around that can do this. I dont mind freighting it some place as long as its a very good job.

Kunda park electroplating do it - I have heard their work is ok but not great, They wanted $40 to do a set of monkey 50 bars

Remember that chrome plating may increase the risk of cracks in the lines due to hydrogen inbrittlement.
They are high pressure lines and it would suck if they cracked.

I am anal though and it would probably be fine.

Another thought might be to look at the heat coatings. The silver coating can be buffed up to be pretty shiney. Doesn't look quite so ricer bling (good or bad depending on your opinion) and has the added side benefit of insulating the fuel in your lines and fuel rails. I've seen it on various parts but not long ago say it on an ally Holden V8 manifold and it looked fairly close to a chrome at first glance. Bit more racer (not ricer) practical too.

Chrome will be fine.
Just keep it clean and do not use wax just a kero rag and a dry rag.
Tell plater what its end use will be. He can adj current to reduce any (if any) hydrogen embrittlement issues.

Whjat about nickel plating? Personally, i like the nickel plating finish better than chrome - each to their own though.

Non-daily is alright.

Im not a huge fan of chrome, had some stuffdone a while ago for heavy use vehicles, and was happy at first, but much punishment and torture later, the items never looked that goof.

Having said that, anything I have had in 316 Mirror polished stainless, requires NOTHING, and always looks the PIMP! Even sit next to the OCEAN, and it comes back looking good.

Chrome over time detiorates. (But with minimal use, and non-daily, and regular cleaning, it will be fine)

I am sure it will look good (The rest of your car certainly does!)

I just worried that under heating and cooling, it might detiorate quicker.

You could make those rails out of stainless pretty easily. I know you can do it for petrols, but with most diesels the fuel rail pressure is too high.
