AIRCON ON A 1HZ 75

hey all havent had me aircon workin now for about a year and time i took a look at it found out i dont have power to the fuse box so nothing works i ran a wire straight from the battery then round it worked mate was saying that if i just try and tap in to the acc something mite go boom and to look for the pessure switch in the engine bay but i cant find anything all it is from compressure alloy lines nothing coming off them so would anyone no my problem or no were the pressure switch is so i can test to see if i have power there
