Yep, there is a Brisbane based LR club. The Land Rover Owners Club of Brisbane. They don't really have a website (not one that is regularly updated). But they meet on the second monday of each month at the 4x4QLD hall, muriel avenue rocklea.
There are a bunch of people from this board that are members, Me, Aquarangie, Raginrover, Strangerover etc, etc. There are usually about 2 trips a month - unfortunately for you you can't drive a suzuki on one (only land rover vehicles allowed) but you can come as passenger (if you want to see what they are like off road before you buy one) - always a seat or 2 free on a trip.

Don't loet that deter you Anthony, good club with a good bunch of blokes who don't care about scratching our Landies (or nearly destroying them in my case). Plenty of knowlegable info and cheap fixes on all your Rangie woes.
The Rangie club which I am also a member of allows all brands (Plus it gives us something to laugh at!!!) in and are also a good bunch, maybe a bit more tame than the LR blokes, but there's a decent group of a dozen or so who don't mind going out and do some more hardcore off-roading.
You should really give it a go before making judgement on the LR club.

I think it was something to do with not wanting to go the way of other clubs like the Lada, Scout and Subaru clubs where the number of other 4x4's outnumbered the brand of 4x4's the club was named after. That and none of us like fixing crappy japanese 4x4's that break trying to drive the tracks that we just idle over
.
No, seriously, like Trav said they are a good bunch of guys (and girls). And like trav said there is also the RR club.

Well maybe its a good idea to have the one vehicle make for members but surely they could bring a friend along in a different car every now and then ? ? ?
I wanna join a club soon and i would love to join the LR club mainly for the advice and knowledge available, but I would also like my mates to come along on some trips and they all have different brand vehicles.
I also like the brand battles and competition between different makes. My whole family have been members of the TLCC and its a great club abit relaxed in most areas and prob not as mega hard core as the shit I am starting to get into but still good for abit of fun
O well I better get back to sorting out exactly what I am gonna do with my POS

Yeah but non members of any 4x4 club are only allowed on one or two trips with a club without joining. After that they aren't covered by the club's insurance unless they become a member. I think one of the clubs who run a lot of night runs got into a bit of trouble over this as they were allowing to many non-members on their trips who weren't covered by insurance.
I think there is a rule somewhere that one non LR vehicle is allowed on each trip at the discretion of the trip leader. Can't remember it ever happening though.
Just get your mates to buy Land Rovers, they will thank you for it in the end...

they all bag my car and are quick to say how crap it is
eg your car is shit the springs fell out
i tell em its called flex
I DIDNT EVEN KNOW I HAD THAT MUCH
mine still has no traction aids and still hasnt been stuck
I have struggled abit every now and then but If I get the maxi hooked up then I will just have to go wheeling alone
I could always join two clubs

As I have mentioned before, there both great clubs with plenty of knowledgeable blokes who know a bit about each Landie or lots about one (such as myself).
The Range Rover club is bigger of the two and could do with some more hard core members so I can run more extreme trips
Join both and this should gibve you plenty of variety in trips.

I wish our Land Rover Owners Club was Rover only....
I have stopped doing trips with our club now 'cause you always get blokes in Toyossan's saying how much better their cars are and we always end up having to snatch and winch them the whole day

At leat you have the last laugh at the end of the day
The 'Rover only' policy in the LROC Brisbane I think is a good thing as Isuzurover has mentioned to stop it being overrun with Jap crap
