early jackaroo engine swap?

Post by cal8544 »

Hey guys i have an early jackaroo pretty straight with a 2.2 diesel isuzu motor non turbo and a 4 speed what a weapon yeah :) its reliable good on fuel and extremely slow (and i pull a camper trailer!). A mate is selling a rusted out 91 model jackaroo with the 2.8 diesel turbo and five speed with air etc and i am thinking of converting all that stuff into mine.......Has anyone done this before 2.8 turbo and gearbox into early 2 door jackaroo? Do they go in? same mounts etc? The later one has hydraulic clutch instead of cable... i am hoping the rest is pretty straight forward ( is there a stronger transfer case between the two?) any ideas or tips would be great guys thanks heaps,
