the scenario is i have shorted my started solenoid wire (black yellow stripe) can't seem to find the relay or fuse for it. all fuses are okay and you can hear a relay clicking when you turn the key. voltage supplied to starter still trips solenoid and start.
so i have a burn out wire or something has given. what gives. where is the starter relay

Starter relay is on the drivers side in the either in the panel behind the battery or between that and the brake booster.
You say the starter still engages? What do you want to fix? If it just shorted out for a few seconds it's most probably ok

If I were you I would wire a relay in, 12vDC from the ignition barrel sounds a bit suspect most people that do that have trouble burning out ignition switches in the long run.
Just a thought and it would be worthwhile to do that, however if you are just going to run it like you have make sure it is a decent size core wire. Ignition switches are designed to power relays not direct power.
