Newbie Question - 4runner Lift Options

The guy who first introduced me to off-roading back when I was a skinny 12 year old (he had a CJ7, man I loved that Jeep) now has a 95 4Runner and wants to lift it but doesn't know anything about lifting a 4Runner.

What are the options, what size lift do you need to run 33s or 35s? What sort of ballpark figure for the different lifts? What sort of drivetrain issues are there to deal with? what about body lifts?

Sorry to be asking such newbie questions but I've got to start somewhere.

if you have a 95 4runner i would do a solid axle swap. to run 33's or 35's its really expensive to do a lift kit in an ifs setup. replace the front axle with a hilux front axle, either coils or leafs and then a suspension lift and body lift. 4" suspension and 2" body lift will clear 35's and have heaps better flex than crap ifs. it all depends on whether your after a bling bling cruising Dudelux pick up truck or something that works well off road ;)

i have to agree with stumpy, my friend has a 4Runner and he thought he would take it off road because of his IFS (inderpendent front suspesion) and his over sized bling bling ego was all ways the frist guy in and the last guy out, swaping the front IFS with front Hilux diff will do wonders thats what my friend did and his now runing 35' hankook tyres, with a 4' suspesion lift and a 2' body lift, he all so has a 350 chev under the hood now there's some thing to think about :D
