HZJ79 4terrain clutch - pedal really soft.

Hi Guys,

I just installed my new 4 terrain clutch in my 2003 HZJ79 ute. Just curious if anyone has installed one and noticed a really soft clutch pedal? It engages close to the floor and sometimes when I first start I have to almost pump up the clutch. Everything works well, shift well, clutch engages well.

Anyone?

Thanks

Louis

Sounds like you may have air in the clutch system. Did you undo any lines? Try bleeding the clutch.

Soft as in a light clutch pedal compared to your previous clutch?

I went from a stock AISIN clutch to a 4 Terrain and didn't notice much difference in the pedal feel. Didnt touch the clutch fluid lines or anything though. Mine engages high up in the travel at the moment but this is due to the adjustment rod between the booster and master winding out on me. Normally I have it engaging just above the floor.

Hi Guys, it was the clutch slave - water must have gotten in there and made a mess of things - installed a new one and it is awesome! Can't wait to try this new clutch out in the back woods.

Thanks again!
