75 series (1HZ) Hard to start. Suspect fuel issues.

Hey guys, was chasing help from some gurus if possible.
I have a '96 1HZ 75 series ute, and it's a pain to start. Cranks for 20-30 seconds or so before it'll kick over.
It's much less of a problem on colder mornings, oddly enough.
It's worse, after driving the vehicle, when it's at operating temp.
You can pretty much drive for an hour, switch it off, park up for 10 seconds, go to start it again and it will not start for 20-30 seconds. Yet first thing in the morning, it's a shitload easier. Although not the usual half second cranks that it used to be.
I'm thinking it's an issue with the injector pump or injectors....?
But am not sure on how to check these at all. Maybe I can't and need to take it in somewhere....?
Help appreciated as i'm doing my quince here!
Cheers
