Hi guys
Does any body know someone near the bayswater (vic) area that can make up a dump pipe for a TO4E monsta turbo (T3/T4) ?
I asked the exhaust shop that im taking the car to as they can test the noise level (needs to be under 90db for engineers) but said they dont get involved in that part.
I really need to get this sorted out so i can make sure the car is running before end of november so i can play over christmas.
Cheers

So you've already had a look and can't buy one from anywhere?
What about a V-band setup?
Are you able to do any work yourself (fab work)?

is it the internal gate with a v-band flange? or the 1 without the rear end at all model? (just 5 bolt holes)
if its the vband 1, i used a ebay 2.5" v-band flange kit, it come with 2 v's and the clamp to suit, you just weld on the v to your dump pipe. and 2 mandrel bends+some straight pipe, job done.
when i went to an external gate, i used the rear gate housing to mark and cut out a plate, then welded on a bit of pipe plus my 2nd left over v (from the formention kit).
plus if your turbo is an internal gated model, like mine was, save yourself the trouble & scap that gate and go external gate, cos the t04e was a copy of a diesel turbo (MITSUBISHI-garret) and WILL NOT even come close to flowing enough gas, it will just boost off the dial when under load. i used one on an rb30, and even with a 5psi acuator, it boosted past 15psi under load and high revs.

hi nicksamaniac
it is an external gated turbo with just the 5 bolt pattern,
i also have a 50mm waistgate for it so hopefully it will not boost to high as the motor has 350,000ks on the clock.
i have spoken to mick at exhaust fix in lilydale and he quoted me $1000.00 to make up the dump pipe and a 3 inch system that will be under 90 db as i am getting the turbo conversion engineered, dose this seem like a good price?
cheers.

are you able to do any of the fab work yourself?
i bought all my stuff from an exaust shop, i got 4x 180' mandrel bends, 1 lenght of tube, 2 sets of flanges (4 plates) and a straight through mufler box all for under $350. i then just cut the sections out of the bends and welded it all together, using the old factory pipe as a guide.
all this stuff made my whole exaust, turbo-back. although it doesn't have a cat and its probably to loud to pass engineers.
$1000 seems ok, if they will supply the noise certificate, then maybe its not to bad, it will probly need a cat for engineers and they are pretty expensive, so if its fully made, fitted and tested with a certificate. might be worth it.

i cant do any of the fab work which makes things a little dearer.
the shop cant do the test but i will be making sure that if its not under that they will get it under the 90 db in the price, i will be removing the muffler after its all engineered and keep it if i ever get busted!!!
bout to start this weekend so see how i go, can see its already blowing out of my first thoughts of $3000 - $3500 starting to look more like $4500 which will really hurt!!!
