im running 13psi with out doing anything to the fuel screw, this does mean though that i dont get the full benefit of running higher boost. all you need is a boost controller or boost bleed valve.

12ht Boost?
Hey all,

Recently installed a 12ht into my 60 series, Also installed a boost gauge around 2500-3000 rpm its getting about 7PSI, Just wondering if you could buy a boost controller what would be a safe spot to wind it up, as a daily driver? Would 12PSi be too much ?? The engine had done about 250 000km on it,

Cheers Ron.Top.>>

Re: 12ht Boost?
I'd stick to 7 PSI. Theres a reason why the 12ht is the best turbo diesel engine around... leave it stock as designed by the factory. If you want to go faster, get another 4wd as the 12ht wasn't meant for speed....HJ61 1989 Sahara VX TD 4.0Top.>>

You can buy a manual boost controller off ebay for about $20. Easy to install too.

I don't see much of a problem with 12 PSI boost. Although, if you start playing with boost and fuel, a pyrometer is a must.Top.>>

Re: 12ht Boost?
dont sting out on a $20 ebay special buy a GFB or turbo smart 1 that way its not a pain in the ass getting it set on your 12psi. 12psi wont hurt it at all strong motors but make sure u buy a piro to keep an eye on things. or if u do want to be a tight ass and not spend a $1 put washers in between the compressor housing and the waste gate plate cheap way of boosting itTop.>>

Re: 12ht Boost?
stay under 550 Degress C hodl it flat out up a long gradual hill and put more fuel in till u get to about 450-500 and u'll be sweet the love it i had 25psi up mine for a good 9-10 months still didnt kill it running a big front mount intercooler tho with out a cooler i wouldnt recommend anything over 14psi let us no how you go im sure u'll notice the difference Top.
