Hi,
Looking at changing the ring and pinions on front and rear diffs. Running 33's on my rangie with zf/LT230 and finding it a bit sluggish on the highway. The standard 3.54 ratio's I believe need changing. I am considering the KAM 3.8 or KAM 4.11 Ring and Pinions. Which would you suggest?

Thanks Guy's, Why would you suggest the ashcroft over the Kam?

I have used Ashcroft 4.11:1 R&P and know them to be good, and Ashcroft are good to deal with, plus they have developed a new range of R&P's that are stronger still.
I am personally reluctant to use Kam's products based on what I have seen/heard.
You need to be very careful not to get a 4.1:1 R&P set - they have small teeth that are not as strong as the larger teeth for 4.11:1. The new range of Ashcroft R&P have larger teeth again and the material they use now has better mechanical properties than used by others for their R&P's.

Pretty much what John said:
(1) The new Ashcroft R&Ps should be MUCH stronger than any other rover R&P on the market.
(2) It is almost impossible to get a straight answer from KAM to a technical question.

This is good dave, one suggestion is that the BW trans does not seem to be listed?

Thanks for your advice guys, Have decided on ashcroft 3.75's due to running smaller tyres on the road between trips. The US exchange rate is currently too good to pass up.

Works fine Dave.
One small thing though, it doesn't let you select alternate low range ratios (Maxidrive etc...)

Hi,
you can just use 'other' instead of 'LT230' and manually enter high and low range,
Dave

Sorry Matt, but the exchange rate has not been kind to you.
Ashcroft's new gears (stronger than your 4.11) are only AU$315 per (diff)set + shipping from Ashcroft or $340+ from Lucky8 (cheaper shipping ex-us apparently). Either way less than $900 for 2 sets inc shipping.
