Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Having driven my GF's car for the past few weeks as mine was at the repairers I had a barebones tool kit. In it was:
- tyre puncture repair kit,
- air compressor,
- Large vice grip,
- Large pliers with wire cutters,
- screwdrivers (flat and philips),
- 3/8" socket set,
- 1/4" socket set,
- 12V trouble light,
- extendable wheel brace,
- spare fuses,
- gaffa tape,
- fire extinguisher

It all fits in a Woolies green shopping bag. Also the first aid kit lives in the glovebox permanently.

If say, you are driving a friends car on a long trip what else you would carry?

One of those jump start batteries or jumper leads.

Roll of glad wrap (good for serious burns, and splinting/immobilizing broken limbs or snakebites). Weighs nothing and stores under seat.

Oh yeah, jumper leads live in the car along with the first aid kit.

Sockets, Spanners, Coolant, Test light, Blanket, Zip ties and a multi tool Leatherman.

cable ties and duct tape. Nothing u cant fix with just those...

These things are for fixing bits that are moving when they shouldn't. You don't have anything for fixing bits that don't move when they should.

I carry most of what's listed above, items such as coolent are omited to save weight, drinking water works just as well in a breakdown situation.

Most people think I'm pulling their leg when I explain that I also have in the panic kit, an epirb, small bible and a bodybag

Metal putty for sure.. Broke down at yawal the other week.. Lost all the oil put of sump and fixed it with some spanners and metal putty. (and a bit of chainsaw bar oil )

without pulling the space crate out of the back of my car and listing what is in it.... this is what i can remember.. of cause it fits ok in a 4b but not so well in the gf's gets...

sockets sets 1/2-1/4
jump leads 2 sets 1 long 1 short
arc sticks (welding rods) whatever
crc
lots of cable ties
first aid kit
fire extinguisher (mounted on the insider of the lid for easy access
standard recovery gear is also in there
soldering iron
basic leccy stuff, fused, wire, crimper's
shifter
small multi-meter
probably other stuff as well

admittedly i don't put this crate in many other cars but could in theory.. as that is what the question was but its a little like how long is a stick...

on long trips i throw in rattle gun and cordless drill as well but little to heavy to have living in the car...

jumper leads and two 12v car batteries will do the trick, although you need three leads.

Around town, nothing but a screw driver. Own a Toyota, don't need tools as it doesnt break down

Touring I have a full sidchrome toolkit of about 150 bits and bobs with other random shite in. Doesn't get opened, as its a Toyota

All that have taveled out with me know my yellow bag of wonders.
