3mm tube, 1.6/2.4mm red band tungsten, 2.4mm filler rod.
70-100A for butt/corner. 90-120A for lap/fillet.

Most of the smaller TIG's you can buy a 130/140 amp . they should do it easy .
I've got a 160 amp and the 9V torch and lead's get too hot before the duty cycle cut's out ( yes I know I should be using a 17v torch but I like the 9v flexy torches ) .

ive got a big ass torch on my little inverter and it gets to hot to touch way before tripping out the duty cycle
it will do 165 amps but i dont normally have it that high.
i might add ive never tripped out the duty cycle on it either, run of the mill WIA 165i pulse inverter

Im about to buy either the UNIMIG (JASIC) AC/DC 200A or the JASIC WSE200P, the unimig jasic is $1450 from total tools in syd, the Jasic is $800 to my door from china... Ive been looking at the specs there's very little difference... the unimig uses 5.8KVA and weighs 30KG, the Jasic uses 4.5KVA and weighs 20kg???
UNIMIG JASIC:
http://www.unimig.com.au/catalogue_prod ... ategory=25" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
JASIC:
http://cgi.ebay.com/WSE200P-AC-DC-TIG-M ... 27a4da6875" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Whats the diffence??? Both are made in China (I would say the same factory) I know the unimig comes with a $75 argon flowmeter regulator for free............. Please explain someone???
I want a AC/DC 240V TIG so I can weld anything (up to 10mm) anywhere with no need for 3 phase... plus I want to make some aluminium tool boxes for the tray... So if you know of a better AC/DC TIG for around the same price thats single phase.. any info would be great!!!
Thanks heaps for the help!
PS... flexy torches are the go! So much better for welding tube!!! But they do get hot!!! IMO...
Cheers

Shipping is a killer though......
$750ish to your door... is that a good overall price??
Surely there is someone in Aus who can have a similar product without a $220 delivery fee and easier to get parts for....
I just bought an inverter mig and the local guys can get the same product for heaps cheaper.

Im trying to work out the difference between them both... There both JASIC? And Im guessing the same? Ones $1450 the other is $800 give or take. If there both the same internals then I could get parts from here anyway. Thoughts??
