According to Pythagoras rule and Erguns correlation i feel
that the amount of up travel should be in direct proportion to the
rego on the vehicle.

so you deserve none of either.......

get ya rego done first toss pot.
you started the rebuild when we were at TAFE we will be retired old geezers and it wont be done!

50/50 is nice but most high rigs end up with about 70/30 or 80/20

(70 up/ 30 droop)

I'd debate that - I think the flexier the rig the more droop/Up ratio....
I know that over 50% of my flex comes from droop....

definately more droop in most higher flex situations.

But if you can get the uptravel to work for you then it would be better to use it :D

4-5" uptravel is good.
As much down as your links can handle is also good.
I think you should go for the longest shock you can and then limit the flex if it is too much.

There are a lot of factors involved in all this though...
brakelines
control arms
driveshafts
panhard bar
steering setup
shock lengths
spring length and retention
etc.
etc.
