Calipers / pads / disc rotors……..
Can I get it from other car maybe straight bolt on?
If any have some idea ware I can find these products I would be grateful.
I can even rebuild if anyone have some ideas.
Regards Stefan

I did DBA slotted disc rotors and decent pads on my GQ and it was a good budget improvement. You can probably get it all on ebay fairly cheap.

The GU 4.8 brakes are the best, but the rotors are suitable only for a 16" rim (and GU master Cylinder etc) so may not suit your rig........Looks like expensive rubber you have on there and I doubt you'll be keen to buy that again!!
Sweet build.

here is my 2c worth
get yourself some Front GU Twin piston callipers (from any patrol from 98 to 2004 just not the 4.8L engine ones)
Get yourself a GU master cylinder and booster (you need both as the GU Master don't bolt to the GQ booster)
Get front and rear Slotted rotors
This will be the best bolt on option
you WILL need to swap the pipes around on the master cylinder down to the distribution block on the driver side wheel well, if you don't all you will do is lock the rears up and have no brakes at the front

I think the gq efi also has twin pistons as well.

Yes they do but they are a shit bolt on design. the GU ones bolt on the same as the single piston ones, the EFI GQ ones allow the pads to fall when they get low.

So the GU brakes and master cylinder would be a good upgrade for my efi GQ?
And the calipers will bolt straight to my mounts?
Cheers

Yes the callipers will bolt straight on providing you get ones that aren't from the 4.8L as they are different again.
you may find that the master cylinder can't keep up with the callipers but who knows yours should have a larger master cylinder cause of the GQ twin piston ones

Do you need the GU backing plates for this mod?
Also can you use the STD GQ discs with these or do you need the GU ones as well?
I am guessing you need both backing plates and discs for the GU as the DBA catalogue shows different discs up front on the GU.
cheers

Since you have the single piston callipers you will need to invest in the Twin Piston callipers, new rotors (GQ Twin Piston Rotors or GU ones they are the same between the GQ Twins and the GU twins) and also the brake master and booster.
you need to modify the pipes on the master cylinder to distribution block to make the GU master cylinder setup work

Hold on guys...
The previous 2 posts....
One says GU discs are thicker, next post says GU and GQ (efi) are the same rotor???
Just trying to get it all straight...

Never had a problem with these over here and are reasonably priced.
Do you need a different pad material for the Arctic Circle area due to the cold?
