Im running 33" Bfg muddies on 10" rims on mine (96 S/cab) with torsion bars wound up, 2" body lift and lifted the tray to allow for flex without scrubbing, but I plan to run 35s with a small guard chop real soon

Im not too sure because I never tried the 33s without the bodylift but id probly say they would scrub on the inside back of the guard. Depending on wat sort of tray youve got on youll find theyll hit the tray on flex as well without lifting it up.

No body lift .. no 33's. In fact you might be pushing it to put on 32's without one. I was running 33's on a 16"landcruiser rim, so what ever that off set is worked fine for me.
For the sake of a couple of hundred bucks and a couple of hours work, the body lift is definitely, IMO, well worth it. To try and sqeeze on larger rubber and not have that extra clearence, if I think a disaster waiting to happen.
Remeber though, body lift also means an engineering cert.
