I few afew questions inregards to replacing a 1HD-FTE Electronic Injector Pump with a mechanical injection pump.
Firstly does anyone know what type of engines have a mechanical injection pump that would suit a 1HD-FTE engine! Was it only the 1HD-FT engine that had this.
Or is the only way to change a 1HD-T injector pump into a 1HD-FT pump?
And by change to a 1HD-FT mechanical injection pump, is there much difference in performance. Due to the change in injectors?

why?
If you want a mechanical pump buy a 1hd-ft its a very similar motor
otherwise just wire it up and get all the benefit of the fte

Re: Mechanical Injection Pump to suit 1HD-FTE
Finally found an answer for my questions.
I found this info posted by fester2au on this forum. http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/viewtopic ... 24&start=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
"The mechanical injector pump and timing cover bit and pieces could be hard to come by and expensive as the only donor is the 96/97 80 series with 24 valve motor."
And to answer my other questions...1HD-T engines are 12 valve not 24. So I very much doubt it would suit 1HD-FTE. And would definately have an effect on the performance (if it goes at all).
So the only way is to get one off a 1HD-FT engine. Like Badger stated.
Thanks everyone for thier input
