i have a MQ patrol and am putting a gq leaf diff front in the front while my engine is out.
To do this i need to cut off my spring mounts to widen them, so Is it worth doing a shackle reversal while im going?
I have no plans for SOA, rockcrawling, etc. just trying to make the old girl more reliable and tougher. main plans are for touring and looks like ill be running out to broken hill and back alot in the next couple years. It will be getting an air locker and yuri cv's, and run 35's.

if your staying SUA i would not recommend the reversal.

I did a shackle reversal on my old MQ years ago. It did run a longer wheel base (110 inches from memory). I loved the shackle reversal and don't know why more people don't do it apart from legalities of course. I found you could drive for example up a gutter and it was smoother than with the standard suspension setup. How could it not be smoother when hitting obsticals as the wheel moves back as compressing. This setup was the only way i stopped bending main leafs also. It was still sprung under the diff.

if you like uni binding, slip joint probs and a host of other dramas than don't do it. ride quality is debatable as a well setup standard sytem will perform very well and give you better handling qualities. if you are in doubt, look at where the fixed point for a coily radius arm is on the chassis, same place as a proper leaf spring hanger.

No uni binding, alip yoke dramas or any negatives really from my shackle reversal, only postives. Handles drop offs much nicer and rides a little smoother on road. over bumps. I've just got drive shaft spacers and the seem to do the job....just but a custom shaft is a small expense which I will be purchasing soon enough., but so far I haven't lost the shaft out the yoke and the droop is quite impressive for a SPUA zook.
