tb42e computer

Hi guy's am puttin this up to find out some info for a mate and also availability, mate's got a 93 ti gq trol with a tb42e it has recently sustained a heap of water over the computer from a leak from the front screen and fried the comp...... we have been told from a wrecker that the replacement comp has to be from a TI as they are diff to other's ?? We thought they would be the same as any other injected model comp bar being auto or manual........ if any one has any info on this would be great to hear and also if anyone has or can tell us where we can get a computer to get him going again would be even better cheers guy's
